Park Department

The Wabash Park Department is responsible for the maintenance of 9 parks totaling approximately 70 acres.
The department employs 3 full time employees and 10 seasonal workers.

SHELTER RESERVATION POLICY
All shelters and pavilions are available at no cost, on a first come, first serve basis. The Wabash Park Department does not reserve shelters or pavilions for private events.  

PARADISE SPRING HISTORICAL PARK RESERVATION POLICY
Paradise Spring Historical Park may be reserved for approved festivals and public events.
Interested parties are required to submit a completed Special Events Application.  

MARK C. HONEYWELL POOL INFORMATION
The Mark C. Honeywell Pool, located at 370 W. Harrison Ave., was built in 1961.
The facility contains a 50 meter competition pool with diving pit and a 120′ single flume waterslide.
It also has 2 smaller pools for young swimmers and a concession stand.

The pool employs a seasonal staff of 3 managers and 15 American Red Cross Certified Lifeguards.

The pool opens Memorial Day weekend and closes for the season in late August. Public swimming
is available daily from 1-7 p.m.

Private parties may be scheduled by stopping by the pool and speaking with the manager on duty.
The manager will explain the private party policy and the rates, and also provide a listing of
available dates and times. Private parties can not be scheduled over the phone.

PEDESTRIAN TRAILS
Wabash Park Department maintains approximately 2.5 miles of pedestrian trail. The paved,
handicap accessible trails are suitable for walking, running, skating, and bicycling. Horses and
motorized vehicles are strictly prohibited.   

TRAILS
Charley Creek Trail (0.75 miles)
Runs between O.J. Neighbors Elementary School and the Morrett Sports Complex.

Paradise Spring Riverwalk Trail (0.75 miles)
A closed loop trail located at Paradise Spring Historical Park.

Wabash Riverwalk Trail (1.0 mile)
Connecting to the Paradise Spring Trail at Huntington St. and continuing west to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources boat ramp on Smith Street.
